Saving Pennies

I usually buy Huggies diapers at Costco. For size 3 we get them for 17.9 cents each. I don't think that's too bad. Target is having a diaper sale. Luvs diapers usually sell for $15.99 for a box of 92 (17.4 cents each). They were on sell for $13.99 (15.2 cents each). I also have a coupon to take $2 off! I was way excited for this sale. I used to use Luvs until we moved close to Costco. I think I liked them pretty well. We went to Target today and there were only 2 boxes on the shelf. I had wanted to buy 3 so I was a little bummed. Also both of these boxes were smashed up pretty bad. They sure weren't screaming "buy me" all banged up and taped back together like that. BUT they were on sale and they are diapers. They should all still be usable...except for one that was out of it's package and taped up with the box. When we went to the checkout we asked to open the boxes and make sure the others were still usable. Anyway, we went up to the front desk to see if we could get some kind of discount. She said yes and was going to give us 25% off each box BUT she couldn't get it to work SO she gave them to us for $9 a box!! That makes it 9.8 cents each!!! Oh I was so excited. It made my day. I thought 15 cents was great. Less than 10 is even better! I also got a rain check for 6 boxes to redeem for the sale price later. Saving pennies adds up. Now I just hope I like Luvs as much as I thought I did. Hehe :)

Anonymous said...: Yay for a good deal! I think I might have to try luvs sometime. I have been hooked on pampers. I tried the Sam's Club brand and hated them so I went back to pampers. I would've tried something else, but I like to buy the huge boxes cause their cheaper... but not if you hate the diapers. I just might have to try luvs though.; May 19, 2008 at 10:17 AM

Lexi wanted me to trace her foot on one of those magnetic drawing boards. So I traced her foot but didn't go between all the toes and when I was done I said, "There, how's that," Disappointed she said, "Uh, not so good. " And put her hand down to be traced instead.
March '10:

Usually when we go out as a family to eat we go to Arctic Circle. They have a fun kid's play zone there. One night we all went out to eat at Chilli's. We were all happily eating our food and Mark leaned over to Isaac and said, "This is fun isn't it?" Lexi disagreed, "There's no slide here," and took another bite.
March '10:
It was REALLY windy one day and I heard a thump outside. The wind had knocked over the garbage can and I told Lexi what happened. Her response, "Not a good choice, wind!!" with her finger up in the air.

Lexi was laying on my lap. When I asked if she was tired she said,"I'm going to sleep here." I tickled her a little and she said, "Don't tickle me. I'm not laughing." A few seconds later... "Tickle me!"

Mark was getting Lexi a drink and requested one of Isaac's sippy cups. Mark asked why she wanted that one and she replied, "'cause I'm silly"

We got a blue Hawaiian Punch that Lexi had never had before. She took a sip of it, looked at her cup and said, "Mmm that good! I feel better!"
