Somehow, I feel like I've been busy lately but I guess that just comes with being a mom....do the dishes, the laundry, pick up toys... There's ALWAYS something to be done.
I've decided that I'm sick of Isaac not being on a schedule. I'm so exhausted. It wasn't so bad when Lexi was a baby because she was my life and I didn't have to worry about too much else. However, it's a different story this time. I didn't really get Lexi onto a good sleep schedule until she was 8 months old. I just can't wait that long this time. I won't survive. So as soon as I figure out exactly what I want to do...I'm going to dive in and get it done.
Lexi is also playing her part in wearing out mommy. I've been putting off potty training for a long time now. She's been showing interest in the potty probably since last June. We got her a potty and let her sit on it and get used to the idea. In October she let us know she needed to go and she went in her potty several times by herself but I really didn't want to potty train hard core because Isaac was just born. What was I supposed to do if she needed to pee while he was nursing?? Point being, I have put off potty training as long as I can and she has informed me that my time is up. Starting last week she starting taking off her pants and diaper after she had relieved herself. She knows the sign for potty and has been good to tell us "potty" AFTER she has already gone in her diaper. I decided that yesterday we would start hard core potty training. Yesterday she made it in the potty twice. I was very proud of her. Now, the real reason I sat down to blog is: Today Lexi went number 2 in the potty for the very first time!! Success! I am so excited that she actually did it! Yay Lexi!!

Monette, I am by no means a sleep or potty training pro, so I rely on others. Many friends have recommended or strongly referenced the book
Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child.
I just got it and haven't read it yet, but they all swear by it, one friend said I would read it more than the scriptures. :) It covers all kinds of sleep habits from infant to toddler, including bed wetting and all sorts of things.
I hope you get the rest you need with whatever works for you! Good luck!
I am still putting off potty training for a while, as Ethan hasn't shown as much interest in it. So, I wish you all the luck.
I'm glad you posted again!
Good luck with Isaac; it's probably harder because he is in your room so you hear EVERYTHING he does at night, not just when he really needs to eat.
With potty training, I would spend a couple of days with her totally naked on the bottom half because I found that JLP was a lot more likely to mess his underwear or pants, but when he was naked he would actually get to he bathroom. Now he just wears underwear around all the time because it's still difficult for him to get both underwear and pants off. JLP also really likes his bathroom chart and stickers.
For cleaning things up, you should get some Bac-Out by BioKleen. I love the stuff. It's a little spending, but really takes the smell out and has its own pleasant odor. I got my from drugstore.com, but it is sold at a lot of places.
You're doing awesome!
I'm impressed with what you have done so far. Good work... Brayden is no where close to being ready to being potty trained. The best book I've read (and the best luck with the kids) is called 12 hours of sleep by 12 weeks. It is great to get kids to sleep through the night without having to "cry it out" to this day, Brayden still sleep great from 8 pm-8 am. And he will go crawl in this own bed when he is tired. I really like it. Good luck with everything. I wish kids came with instruction!
