A while back I posted about winning a trip to Lagoon and a night's stay in Salt Lake. We took the kids to my parent's house and made it into a parent's weekend getaway.
When we first got to Salt Lake we went to the movies at a THX certified cinema. (A "to do" on Mark's mental bucket list.) What does that mean?? THX put their stamp of approval on the theater. It meets up to their certain requirements to be good quality. I'm sure you've seen the THX trailers before movies. If you're interested or just want to know what I'm talking about go here: http://www.thx.com/cinema/trailers.html
For lunch we went to Tucanos Brazilian Grill. I had never been to a restaurant like that before but I'm definitely going back and would recommend it!! It was so yummy.
It's an all you can eat restaurant where servers bring various cuts of meat on skewers to your table and give you as much of each cut as you like. Aside from all the glorious meat the pineapple is indescribably delicious. Warm and caramelized. SO GOOD! (Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my chin...)
We took an evening stroll around temple square and beyond. We ended up wandering around the planetarium for awhile.
I really got a kick out of this set up they had. There is a TV screen on the right of this picture so it looks like you're a real weather forecaster!! Unless you're flexing your muscles... real forecasters don't do that. (Have muscles, that is...)
Here I am sitting on the planet Mars...
The next morning we went to the temple and then on to Lagoon.
The park was all decorated for Frightmares.
Our last ride of the night was the big Sky Coaster. They pulled us up and up and up. Then they counted down for me to pull the rip cord (so scary!) Then you free fall, think you're going to splat on the ground and then fly back and forth for a little while. It was quite a rush and so much fun!!

this looks like it was a fun trip.
Wow! What an ultra fun packed weekend you had! I love it! Of course you couldn't get me onto that sky coaster for a million dollars but I'm glad you guys had fun. You need those mommy and daddy getaways every now and then :)
