Utah Day

Open House

One of my old roommates from fall semester 2004 (I can't believe it was really that long ago!) got married in California May 1st and had an open house in Alpine, UT last Saturday (the 8th). We decided to make the trip. It was so good to see her and her new hubby. I wish them so much happiness!!!

Here's Lexi waiting to talk to the pretty princess.

Isaac enjoying a strawberry on the grass. It was a nice sunny day; hence the squinting.
Lex was excited for that chocolate cake.

Temple Square
After the open house we headed to Temple Square. We took tons of pictures here. The grounds were so beautiful. We saw three lovely princesses. It was fun taking our kids there for the first time. We didn't stay for too long since we were planning on making it all the way home that night.

This grumpy face cracked me up.

This face also made me laugh. Isaac is glaring at Lexi because she wants his cracker.
We had the kids go up and touch the temple like we've been encouraged to have them do. President Thomas S. Monson once counseled, “As we touch the temple, the temple will touch us.”

Even on temple square boys will be boys. He likes dirt. Don't worry there weren't any flowers here.

Roy, UT

If you have never been to Roy you need to go and visit the Burger Bar. They have yummy fries, thick shakes and of course the famous "Big Ben" burger. In my family we refer to the Burger Bar as "Big Bens." If we're heading to Utah it's tradition to stop in Roy and almost a sin if you don't. It was the kid's first time there so of course we had to get a picture. After a couple attempts this is really the best one we got.
They had chicken but preferred the fries.

That is one JAM PACKED post!

I'm so glad your trip went mostly uneventfully, and that there were pretty Princesses to see. I was one at that temple once, and they do seriously get as many couples through as possible. The pictures of the kids at the temple were so candid and cute! It is easy to see their personality coming through. And you guys looks so good, too!

We will have to stop by and try the infamous burgers when we go through next time. Actually, the shake sounds a lot more appealing right now. I'm glad little places like that still exist. It makes me miss Backyard in Rexburg (which closed, by the way...).

Monette - your kids are so cute! Temple square is so beautiful right now. Brian, Russell, and I are going up there this Saturday to plant flowers. I am graduating in August, but after that, who knows where I'll be going... We shall see!
