We went to the same place where we had our Elder's Quorum activity, Wilson Lake in Hazelton. (no camping fee!) We got a late start and had to hurry to get the tent up before dark. We set up camp right next to the lake. Mark started the fire and we got some hot dogs roasting for the kids. They had smores and then we headed to the tent to get them ready for bed. Isaac had been so tired but thought the tent was so cool he had to jump all over like a happy frog. It took a little while to convince them they had to go to sleep. Then I joined Mark back by the fire where he had made us some hamburgers. It was so nice sitting there by the fire in front of the lake.

Our Campsite
The most "exciting" part of our camping trip was the keys getting locked in the van first thing in the morning... Yeah, not so cool. Luckily the back windows were left open and that was where the keys were. Mark was able to "MacGyver" them out by using a hanger from making smores and a rope from off the tent. It was a long process but he was successful!! We were then able to make breakfast and have a great morning.

Our first camping trip was a success! We all had a great time together.

It must have been the power of ORANGE that led to the rescuing of the keys. :)
I bet it was nice to have some...seclusion. I always hate being surrounded by others while camping because we are not of the quiet variety, as you well know. Were you comfortable on the air mattress?
The pictures of the kids by the water are so cute! It's amazing how it doesn't take long to get acclimated and dirty! At least skin is washable :)
