Doctors and Potties

My doctor's appointment yesterday went just fine. I was able to see the doctor who first told me about the ultrasound showing a later due date. This doctor shares my thoughts and feelings about being induced. The baby was once again monitored and everything is great. It was offered to me to go in last night to be induced and I would probably be holding my baby boy right now BUT... I opted to wait it out a little longer. My back has been feeling alot better and I would just rather the baby come when he's good and ready. I'm at 1cm and 30% effaced which is what I was last time. If my cervix was "ripe" as they say, I would be a little more ok with being induced right now. I don't want it to hurt worse than it's already going to and I don't want an epidural....SO we're just going to keep waiting for now. I have another doctor's appointment set up for Thursday with the same doctor. I really hope something happens before then. Again we'll just have to wait and see.

On a completely different subject. Lexi went pee pee in her potty yesterday for the first time!!! I was so proud of her. She tugged on her diaper and I asked her if she needed to go potty. She nodded yes and ran off to the bathroom. I put her on the potty and she'd sit for a second and get up and walk around. Then I'd put her back on. We've gone through all of this before... it either ends with getting a diaper back on or pee all over the floor. This time it ended with pee in the potty. Yeah Lexi! We haven't been very consistent in this whole potty training thing. Mark's actually been alot better at helping her and encouraging her than I have. I've planned to just wait until after the baby comes and we're all adjusted to life with him before I'd really start this whole potty training thing. We were pretty happily surprised at her success yesterday. I'm still not very excited to do potty training hard core but she definitely understands what she's supposed to do.

I completely understand the potty training thing. There have been many stops and starts with my oldest two before it really took root. And they were both around 3 when it really worked. The plus to that was that they went straight to being dry 24 hours instead of just during the day like a lot of newly potty trained kids are. So I'm all for waiting until your little one is born and then trying in a few months more consistently. Hope all is going well. You're in my prayers :)

Sweet! That's great that she's making the connection between the toilet and going to the bathroom. Keep up the good work!

Not to be a rain cloud or anything but...induction/c-section is not the end of the world.

I had the ideal labor planned and it never happened. 2 weeks over due, 5 days in the hospital and I never went into labor, waters never broke on their own, I got loaded full of cerbidol, pitocin, stadol, epidural and a spinal tap, I never got past 5 cm, I never got to transition and never got to push.

Let us all remember that medication is not an abomination and a c-section does not mean death. And it most certainly does not mean you are any less of a woman.

Please don't be too disappointed when these thing have to happen in order to bring our children into this world.
