Another Baby Update

Obviously our baby boy is STILL not here. At my appointment last Thursday everything was still looking good. Great heart beat. The doctor thinks he may be a 9 pound baby but that's not a concern at all. Lexi was 8lbs 11 ozs. I was still at 1 cm. So no progress there, but I didn't expect any. The plan is I will go into the clinic again Tuesday morning to be monitored and checked. If there is still no progression I will go in Tuesday evening to start the process of being induced. They would then start the Pitocin Wednesday morning. If there is progression I will most likely still be induced I'm just not sure if I would go in Tuesday or Wednesday. Either way by Wednesday at the latest my baby boy will FINALLY be here. I'm still crossing my fingers that he will come on his own but I'm losing hope. It really feels like he's NEVER ever coming. I'm thinking today would be a good day for his arrival. It is Labor Day...

Lesley said...: I wish your baby had taken the hint about "Labor Day". :) Maybe he will still put it together by Wednesday. Ian came along in the middle of the night, just a few hours before he was scheduled to be induced. I guess he knew the plan and wanted to do it his way.

Any chance your Dr. would "strip/sweep" your membranes? That works best when you are a little more dilated, but if they can put some stuff in there to "ripen" you up, and it makes you dilate a little more, stripping your membranes could be a nice alternative to Pitocin.

Anyway, I am thrilled to hear that he is so close to coming! Wednesday isn't so far away! How exciting! Horray for Lexi's little bro!

Out of the Mouth of Babes

April '10

Lexi wanted me to trace her foot on one of those magnetic drawing boards. So I traced her foot but didn't go between all the toes and when I was done I said, "There, how's that," Disappointed she said, "Uh, not so good. " And put her hand down to be traced instead.
March '10:

Usually when we go out as a family to eat we go to Arctic Circle. They have a fun kid's play zone there. One night we all went out to eat at Chilli's. We were all happily eating our food and Mark leaned over to Isaac and said, "This is fun isn't it?" Lexi disagreed, "There's no slide here," and took another bite.
March '10:
It was REALLY windy one day and I heard a thump outside. The wind had knocked over the garbage can and I told Lexi what happened. Her response, "Not a good choice, wind!!" with her finger up in the air.

Lexi was laying on my lap. When I asked if she was tired she said,"I'm going to sleep here." I tickled her a little and she said, "Don't tickle me. I'm not laughing." A few seconds later... "Tickle me!"

Mark was getting Lexi a drink and requested one of Isaac's sippy cups. Mark asked why she wanted that one and she replied, "'cause I'm silly"

We got a blue Hawaiian Punch that Lexi had never had before. She took a sip of it, looked at her cup and said, "Mmm that good! I feel better!"
