Pumpkin Carving

Our pumpkins have been sitting around for a little while and we keep saying "we'll carve them tomorrow night." We really wanted Lexi to be involved and it was always to close to bedtime when we talked about doing it. For FHE this week we finally decided to carve our pumpkins. Lexi was interested in watching Mark pull out the pumpkin guts but would not touch them herself. We kept saying "ewww" which I think scared her off. I was a little disappointed because I thought she'd love helping clean the pumpkins out. I guess it saved me from cleaning up a huge mess though. Toward the end she decided to help out a little. She was still very timid but we got a few pictures of her participating. She was very excited to see the final product lit up outside. She kept clapping and saying "yay, yay." She wanted to stay outside and look at them.

those are very cute pumpkins. You've inspired me to maybe have ethan help me carve a pumpkin. :)

I love the squiggle smile one!

Lexi is just practicing to be a proper girl by not touching anything so icky as pumpkin guts!

You're such a good mommy. I didn't want to have to clean up the mess so we just used a kit to decorate our pumpkins. Next year I'll have to get my backside into gear and carve the pumpkins. By the way, your pumpkins turned out great!
